Project Objectives
Symbols are incredibly powerful communication tools. They can communicate faster than words and often in a universal way that transcends cultural barriers. There are two main icon types: Iconic design, which is more static, simpler, bold, and narrative technique which is implied motion, engaged, more detailed, tells more of a story.
I went ahead and incorporated both in my icon designs. This project demonstrated an understanding of: consistency, color, and use of space. I used the same type of stroke weight, same size and placement, rounded corners, and I used 4 colors to have consistency on all of my icons.
Key take away
I was able to explore different design styles. For me it was hard and challenging at the beginning because this was not my style, but I was able to learn the importance of trying different styles. Having a open mind help me grew as a designer and also helped me learn others ways that I could design without losing simplicity and elegance.
